OUR JOURNEY

  • 1997
    Thai-Yasuda Insurance Co.Ltd.
    was first established in June 1997 by name “Thai-Yasuda Insurance Co.Ltd.”, registered and fully paid capital 300 million Baht.
  • 2002
    Sompo Japan Insurance
    When Yasuda Fire & Marine merged with Nissan Fire & Marine to be Sompo Japan Insurance, our company had changed name to Sompo Japan Insurance (Thailand) Co.,Ltd.
  • 2012
    Converted to a public company
    The registered capital had been increased to 3,120 million Baht - fully paid up. Shareholders are
    1. Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.
    2. Sompo Japan Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd.
    3. Sompo Insurance Singapore Pte. Ltd.
    As required by the Non-Life Insurance Act, in August 2012, Sompo Japan Insurance (Thailand) converted to a public company with same capital and shareholders.
  • 2013
    Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited
    Effective January 2013, we have registered name to be Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited. This is the business merge with Nipponkoa in Thailand.
  • 2014
    Merge and become the largest Japanese insurance company
    In 2014, under NKSJ group, Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. and Nipponkoa Insurance Co.,Ltd. will merge and become the largest Japanese insurance company.

  • 2016
    Sompo Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited
    "From September 30, 2016. We, Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance (Thailand) Plc., have changed our company name to be “Sompo Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited”. Our new name reflects Sompo Group’s brand strategy that puts higher focus on unifying “SOMPO” brand as our group companies’ name."
